Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of honing different talents and potential for goodness, specifically comparing various methods or approaches to developing and maximizing an individual's talents and potential for goodness. The research method used is library research. The findings indicate that humans have the potential for both good and bad tendencies. The moral teachings in the Quran emphasize the development of good traits and the avoidance of bad ones, as explained in Ibn Kathir's commentary on the purity and corruption of a person’s inner self. Humans possess two tendencies that differentiate between good and bad. Allah provides imbalance and punishment in accordance with human choices. Acts of adultery and murder are described in the Quran as grave wrongdoings that must be avoided and controlled by humans to prevent their negative consequences.
